Yarn Locs: The Takeout

So on Thursday night, I finally took down my Yarn locs. Take down was fairly easy, a snip there, a little unraveling there, you know the usual. Well after everything was said and done can I just say that the hair gods must have favored me because my hair felt so soft and moisturized ! Like that never happens ! Usually after every time I take a protective hairstyle out, my hair is normally dry and in need of some serious moisture or maybe just a wash lol. But you get my point ! I honestly think it has to do with the fact that since I put the yarn locs in my hair, I've been moisturizing my hair every two days. Literally ! Every two days I would alternate between my commercial leave in conditioner, or water/aloe vera juice. Then I sealed in my hair with my cream and lastly my oil. I also made sure I oiled up my scalp almost everyday. This method seemed to work so I will be using this same method when taking care of my crochet braids (I just installed today- video/post coming soon) :)

Crochet Install: Part 1

I've been dying to get some crochet's in my head ! Like literally. Every day for the past two weeks I've been on instagram searching for every picture tagged with #crochetbraids- just for a little inspiration. I also did it because I wanted to try Kinky/Marley hair in place of my usual Freetress curl, & I had to watch numerous  youtube videos to make sure I was making the right decision. So after giving my hair the royal treatment yesterday. I braided up my hair and proceeded to install my Kinky hair.

Oil Rinsing for Hair

Hey Loves !

Back here today with another beneficial hair method for my ladies. As women with natural hair, especially African American women, our hair is prone to dryness. But like other things that come out way, this can easily be fixed in a variety of ways. Today's method for helping retain moisture in our hair is by way of oil rinsing.

Oil rinsing is a method of applying oil(s) to your hair after shampooing but before you deep condition. This can be achieved either by letting it sit on your hair with or without hair for about 5-30 minutes or more. It is different from pre-pooing beccause pre-pooing is done before shampoo is applied to the hair.
