Product Review: As I Am Double Butter Cream Rich Daily Moisturizer

The hair gods are alive & they just answered my prayers !! I've spent literally years looking for a product that would be able to give me definition (lawd just a little) for when it came to me achieving twist outs, braid out's and any other style that needed definition in order to pop. I found it in this one product- by MISTAKE !! I was in need of a hair moisturizer during bar study that would be pocket friendly and still have mostly natural ingredients for my hair. I was at the Walgreens by my school and stumbled upon the As I Am Double Butter Cream. I got the 8 oz for about $8 (prices seem to have went up or I just snagged a sale) and it was the best $8 I have ever spent. Here's the breakdown

I'm excited to come to you guys with a new hair challenge I will be embarking on to promote hair growth ! So before I go into the actual challenge let's go over the benefits of castor oil for hair ! Ive used Tropic Isle Jamaican Castor Oil for almost a year now and I love it. I used it to fill in the sides of my hair from my horrible cut from when I big chopped the second time.

Today's product review is on the Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary ! I love it ! Better than the original one I've been using for the past year. Rosemary has a lot of benefits for hair  and when applied to the scalp leaves the scalp feeling tingly. All in all I'm excited to continue using the Jamaican Castor oil with Rosemary oil !

Product Review: Red Palm Oil as Moisturizer

Yes. You read right. For all African readers you all must be like whattttttt? Growing up in a Nigerian household Red Palm Oil was a staple as well as a base dish in many of the things my family cooked. But when I did some research on the actual benefits of Palm Oil for hair I was quite surprised!

Palm Oil is actually great for moisturizing hair. Especially African- American hair which has a tendency to be drier than most (*raises hand and nods head). Besides moisturizing hair, Palm Oil has other great benefits that our can benefit from. It's great to add to a pre-poo, a deep conditioner, leave-in and even to your DIY Whipped Butter mix !

One Word, Awesome !! This shampoo bar was everything I hoped it would be and more. I can already tell it will become a staple in my hair regimen. I was so excited to use this shampoo bar, that I  took out my protective hairstyle I had in two weeks earlier just so  I could try it. I specifically ordered this shampoo bar because I want to move towards a more ayurvedic regimen when it comes to my hair, well for now, so I knew this shampoo would be perfect. It had a whole lot of ayurvedic herbs that I knew my hair would love as well as other butters and essential oils great for promoting hair growth!
